Hearts

Ink, Watercolor, Pastel, No Words, Hearts, Hearts - No Words

The heart has numerous associations, functions, and possibilities, making it central to both our physical and spiritual being. For some, it's a "secret place"—a pivot for feelings (generates love, compassion, understanding, charity, and more). For others, it's a life-giving force—regulates blood-flow. In Hebrew, "Lev" (heart) is usually a boy's name, but I decided to call my new (female) puppy and co-therapist this, well before her birth. Since hearts had fascinated me for as long as I could remember, I was certain this dog would instill "heart," and all that it represents, in the lives of everyone who met her. Knowing how heart-felt connections with others bolster our feelings of security. Not only does the name "Lev" say it all with respect to my canine's personality, but one syllable is easy for her to recognize! The selection of hearts displayed here look at the heart from various points of view, while displaying a range of emotions, circumstances, and responses.
